I use an external midi keyboard to enter music onto a music score (you just play the music in and it appears as music notes on the screen).

I am fairly new to Linux and I know this is not the most obvious thing to be trying to do but I had all sorts of problems with Windows XP on my computer so installed Linux Mint and everything runs beautifully and I love it EXCEPT for music score writing.
